Vidisha Paranjpe, RD

Health Coach

Although Vidisha is knowledgeable in most areas of clinical nutrition and diet-related chronic illnesses, she has particularly strong experience working in mental health. She also enjoys working with people who are interested in starting or maintaining a plant-based diet. Vidisha has always loved food and been interested in learning about the latest nutrition research. However, the most pivotal moment for her was when her mom started seeing a dietitian. She was amazed to see her mom become more confident, energetic, and positive just by making small changes in her diet and lifestyle.

Originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan, Vidisha is a Licensed Dietitian in the state of Texas. She uses motivational interviewing in her practice and likes her sessions with clients to be collaborative to ensure that her recommendations fit well with the client’s lifestyle.

Before the pandemic, Vidisha enjoyed spending her free time exploring new restaurants and parks, going on long walks, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

What makes me unique?
I have experience working in a wide range of settings, which has allowed me to interact with clients from different cultures, age groups, and socio-economic backgrounds. My experience includes working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, community diabetes and obesity clinics, nursing homes, and family medicine practices. Being sensitive to a client’s background and culture, and how it influences their diet and lifestyle is very important to me and I try to make all of my recommendations with this in mind. Another thing that distinguishes me from others in my profession is that I am very easy going and have a good sense of humor (at least I think so!).

Why do I practice healthcare?
As a natural extrovert and empath, I enjoy meeting new people and empowering them to make simple but effective choices to help improve their life. I love being able to take all of my education and experience and share it with others. It feels great to be in a field where I get to focus on helping people.
