Okon’s goal is to efficiently maximize functional movement through a combination of manual therapy, exercise, and educational guidance, and by customizing treatment to the need of each patient. An advocate of injury prevention and injury risk assessment, Okon has a particular interest in the care and management of athletes and active people who are not willing to let injury or pain stop them from performing in their respective sports, work activities, or daily life.
Okon graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2007 with a Master of Physical Therapy and will complete his post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy from the EIM School of Health Professions in 2020. He became a board-certified clinical specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) in 2010 and Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) in 2013. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and has taught courses on return to play criteria post-injury as a Certified Clinical Instructor for physical therapy students. Other certifications he holds include Trigger Point Dry Needling and Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Okon has served as a mentor in orthopedic and sports residencies, as a rehabilitation consultant for the athletics program at an NCAA Division I university, and in formal operational and clinical leadership positions.
In his spare time he enjoys weight-lifting, attending local sporting events, and spending time with his family. He is looking forward to changing the way healthcare is viewed and consumed with the innovative integrated care model Crossover Health provides to its members.
