Melinda enjoys seeing the success of a patient’s healthcare journey and knowing that she had some part in their health and wellness. Born and raised in Louisville, Melinda holds her Kentucky APRN license, as well as multiple certifications. She was also a BLS Instructor for 22 years, and a NRP Instructor for nearly 20 years.
Away from work, she loves the outdoors, especially hiking, biking, and kayaking—that is, when her friends and family haven’t borrowed the kayaks for themselves! She also loves cycling, mountain biking, and e-biking. On her last family vacation, they rode Going to the Sun Road at Glacier National Park, which was an amazing experience and views that were beyond comparison. When she’s home she relaxes by reading, gardening, and connecting with friends.

What makes me unique?
I was originally a Neonatal ICU RN for 20 years before returning to college to obtain my Family Nurse Practitioner Degree—while single handedly raising three wonderful girls. I believe you can do anything you put your mind to doing.
Why do I practice healthcare?
I started practicing nursing to survive as a single mom and it has transitioned to being a “healthcare manager” for my patients. I enjoy facilitating health and wellness to my patients.
