Jeff is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and a trained EMDR Therapist. He feels there is nothing better than ending a day knowing you have made a positive difference is someone else’s life. Working in healthcare, and mental health specifically, gives him the opportunity to feel that way pretty much every single day.
A native of Louisville, Jeff grew up in the south end of the city. He earned both his BA in Psychology and his Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville. Within the last couple of years, he completed the one-year program in Advanced Psychotherapy at the Wayne Institute, which is based at Bellarmine University, and he is currently studying the Internal Family Systems (IFS) treatment model and integrating it into his work with patients. Jeff is trained in several evidence-based treatment models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. He has experience working with adult clients dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, compulsive behaviors, and trauma.
When he’s not treating patients, Jeff spends a great deal of his time caring for and enjoying the company of the small menagerie that he considers part of his family—Lizzy the Goldendoodle, Pearl the cat, and William the lop-eared bunny add immeasurable joy, laughter, and cuteness to his life. Lizzy and Jeff volunteer together as a pet therapy ambassador team for WAGS Pet Therapy of Kentucky. He also enjoys cooking and is constantly in search of new recipes that are interesting, healthy, and delicious.
