Gloria is a dedicated psychologist with two decades of experience. Her passion for therapy involves focusing on solutions, finding what clients are already doing to help themselves, and building upon that so that they can experience a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Gloria’s expertise is in providing therapy and psychological evaluations for adults, adolescents, families, and couples. She combines cognitive behavioral, positive psychology, and acceptance and commitment approaches for individuals and family, and the Gottman Method for couples therapy. Gloria specializes in treating depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), sexual assault issues, eating disorders and body image, couples/relationship issues, gay affirmative therapy, and gender concerns. She also specializes in psychological and psychoeducational assessment, and is regularly appointed for forensic psychological evaluations, where she has provided expert witness testimony in criminal, dependency, and family court cases. Additionally, she has expertise in pre-bariatric surgery assessment and other health assessments.
She earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Florida in Psychology and Sociology. Gloria went on to earn a PhD in Psychology at the University of Florida, and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral experience at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, with specialized training in trauma-focused CBT.
Gloria was born in Cuba, and has lived in Miami since the age of four.
