Akbar is a board-certified family physician dedicated to helping his patients achieve the highest level of satisfaction with their health. Trained at an osteopathic program for medical school, he has a strong understanding of the holistic philosophy of medicine and the musculoskeletal system. After completing his residency at a community clinic in San Jose, CA, working with an underserved population, he continued sharpening his clinical skills with a similar population for a few years. The intricacies of insurance plans and coverage were at times difficult to decipher, however, Akbar welcomed the challenge and was driven in figuring out how to steer through these obstacles. This is a testament to his hard work and perseverance in making sure his patients receive the services they deserve.
Akbar has always enjoyed the diversity in the South Bay Area, learning many lessons from various cultures. Growing up in an eastern culture himself, he speaks Farsi, as well as English and Spanish. He believes that understanding patients’ cultures ultimately leads to more appropriate and effective clinical decisions.
